Available Funds

The Pacific Northwest Unitarian Universalist Growth Foundation has various funds described below. These funds are available for loans to congregations for space or buildings, and grants for ministry. Application forms can be printed out, filled in, and mailed to the PNUUGF at the address shown.

The various funds are designed to be distributed as investments which in turn generate interest. Interest generated by the loans will be reinvested into the fund and made available as loans to congregations, continuing the cycle of growth.

Rod Stewart Growth Fund

At its 1995 Annual General Meeting in Victoria,British Columbia, the Pacific Northwest District
delegates voted to establish the Rod Stewart Growth Fund within the Pacific Northwest UU
Growth Foundation. For over twenty years the Pacific Northwest District was blessed with an
exceptional district executive who carried a vision of the possibilities of our movement.
Rod Stewart’s inspirational gifts to the growth of liberal religion are evident throughout the
Pacific Northwest - in the societies and congregations he assisted, the people he trained,
and the innovative programs he helped create. The Rod Stewart Growth Fund allows us to
focus on financial needs that we do not yet adequately meet. Since its inception over
$300,000 has been raised from individuals, congregations, and ministers to support
congregational growth in the states and provinces of the Pacific Northwest.

The Rod Stewart Growth Fund is a designated fund of the Pacific Northwest UU Growth
Foundation. That means gifts to the fund can be used for loans to Pacific Northwest District and British Columbia congregations for: purchasing land, constructing or purchasing buildings, remodeling or expanding existing buildings.

wife, Dr. Leola Lorenzen. It was established to provide short -term loans for congregational
growth and expansion through means other than enhancement of physical facilities.

District Executive, Anne Odin Heller, author of the widely acclaimed book, Churchworks: A
Well-Body Book for Congregations. The Churchworks Fund will make grants to support growth
and expansion of member congregations.

Hewett/Hopper/Raible Ministerial Support Fund

The Hewett/Hopper/Raible Ministerial Support Fund exists to enhance the strength and presence of professional ministry in our congregations.
